i hope everyone is enjoying college as much as i am, and i've only been here one day! we had the freshman soiree last night....

1)the girls gathered in the second floor lobby of Carnegie [the freshman girls' dorm]
2)the guys were brought over at six thirty

it was pretty fun! i was worried about who would draw my name, and when i heard my name called, my first thought was along the lines of "oh s---"....haha...but a really gorgeous soccer player drew my name ;)...his name's kyle...funny, hot, nice....

hah anyways last night (after the soiree was over), me and like six other girls were invited over to Grier (the freshman guys' dorm) to just chill for awhile, which was fun, then the guys turned around and walked us back to Carnegie....then i sat outside with one of them and talked for a couple of hours, which was fun, til i realized i probably needed sleep before the morning, so i ended up going back to my room at like 1:15, then to sleep at like 2:00...

oh well...another fun day ahead, i'll talk to y'all later! much <3

well, the fateful day is tomorrow--i move into my dorm room at Erskine. i'm feeling so many emotions right now:



happy/excited : starting a new chapter of my life, asserting my independence, hopefully making a ton of new friends, and just overall enjoying the whole experience

sad : the people i'm leaving: my grandparents, my father, my incredible church family, the best friend i've ever had, and a person whose name i can't mention but i am most definitely thinking about

scared : more like nervousness about the upcoming transition--it's different when you're like "omg what colleges should i look at" to "choosing the school after getting accepted" to "graduation day" to "the fateful last summer" to "move-in day"

hyper : holy sh*t i'm sooooooo excited! i can't wait! it's tomorrow! and although i'm leaving greenville at like 7:30 am, I DON'T CARE! this experience will be so worth it!



okay enough of me being hyper.....i know i have a small closet and a limited amount of storage, but i still have an assload of stuff that i'm taking, clothes-wise, after it got weeded out by my sister and me last night, and i finally finished packing like twenty minutes ago.....and i'll be packing this thing up at some point today, so i want to go ahead and update before i do so and forget! I'll see all of my fellow Erskinites tomorrow!

well, me anyways. i leave greenville in 20 days for Erskine, which is about an hour away, depending on how fast you drive {and just YESTERDAY, i learned how Due West got its name; it's due west of Ninety Six, which is ninety-six miles from Columbia....random, i know}...but anyways, yesterday was pre-orientation/parent orientation......i got my picture made for my ID, and you know how much i hate having my picture taken....then i got my schedule, which i'm relatively pleased with.....then i had to take my spanish placement test {fun crap, i tell ya!}....and oh yes, i got to look at my dorm room! my roommate wasn't at the pre-orientation, so i got to take the measurements myself haha....and when i turned in my money to loft my bed, i was asked which bed i wanted after replying that i didnt know what my roommate wanted to do to hers, so i guess that's good that i got to choose my bed? and i'll get to see where the refrigerator, microwave, and loveseat will go, seeing as how i'm bringing all of that {at least those three items were of no cost to me:)}....and i definitely didn't want to leave yesterday, i was so pumped about moving in.....

the most eventful part of the day, which i almost didn't make it to erskine but did thanks to sarah coming to the rescue, was my car shutting down on the way there.....but it's all good now i believe....so i should be getting it back soon!

well, guess who's finally updating? yes, that would be the wonderful moi:-D...anyways, nothing has really been going on with me. i got back from a week-long mission trip in North Carolina friday (the 29th), and it was amazing. it saddened me to see the situations my work site had to improve/fix...painting {completely} a house, building steps/a deck, building a wheelchair ramp/deck for a partially blind man...on a lighter note, the youth group got closer, which impressed me despite me being the oldest youth by just over three years...there were many sad moments, like when i broke down to the youth minister due to all my stress recently, as well as many good memories, like finishing our set assignments and meeting new people (*wink wink*....y'all will have to ask me later ab that one)! and as of august 4th, which it almost is, it will be a sad twenty-three days until i leave greenville and move into my dorm at erskine...i have almost everything that i need, but there are so many things i have to deal with before and after i leave, and frankly--i'm scared...i never admit that to people, but i feel i can trust all of y'all enough to say so...i really just don't know what to do with my school situation (nerves/anxiety/whatever), to my relationship issues, to everything else.....if you can, please help:)

As of 3pm Saturday, guess who is FINALLY legal? lol yes, I have been waiting for my 18th birthday for I don't know HOW long! The party was good for the most part (if you want to know the one bad thing, IM me), I got another hole in each ear (nothing too major)...um...my friend is trying to set me up with somebody, whom I wouldn't mind being set up with :-D lol that's my little secret ;-)

anyways, two months from today is the big move-in day! i find out in like two and a half weeks who my roommate is, and parent orientation is August 6, so I'll meet them then, take my language placement test, check out the dorm room...i'm so excited about moving into Erskine, it'll be the experience of a lifetime (college, I mean)...i've already picked out what activities i want to do there and possibly what sorority i want to rush lol (by the advice of that lovely older sister of mine)...

mission trip: i leave july 24th. i will be the oldest one going, and i already feel out of place in youth group because i've already graduated, and it hit me the first sunday after first week like "whoa, what am i doing here", so i talked to my youth minister, and i'm basically going to step up and be like a leader, but not an official chaperone, like i can relate to the youth still, but also relate more to the adults going. that will be an interesting week.

friday: i'm going to anderson all day w/ the best friend, then we're going with her youth group to georgia to a drive-in movie (double feature--batman begins and war of the worlds), getting back to greenville at 3:30 am, so i'm just staying at her house. but i have been wanting to see both of those movies, so yay, i finally will lol
